This week’s Poli Sci-Fi Radio is a bit shorter than normal because Bill had to run out to set up a special screening of Nerdcore Rising, a documentary about nerdcore hip-hop by NYC filmmaker, Negin Farsad.  Negin joined the PSFR crew in the studio on mic #3 and totally geeked out over Lost, among other subjects.

BSG season 4.0 is upon us… do we care?  Bill, Steve and Jeff discuss what’s gone wrong with Ron Moore’s formerly fabulous franchise.  Other topics include Joe Lieberman gaffs and McCain missteps, the utterly ridiculous Obama bowling story, the potential death of “serious” science fiction and the vastly under-reported release of the John Yoo memos (which essentially declared that the Bush administration was not beholden to the 4th amendment at all when it came to issues of national security — seems a tad more important than Obama’s lame bowling game).

We had several listeners participating during this episode’s broadcast, which is the first since Bill’s return from SXSW.  We had two phone calls and several IRC chatters.  We’re hoping this is a trend.

Another thing we’re trying out is a fast turn-around for the podcast.  Bill was previously editing the episodes as “enhanced” podcasts (with chapter breaks and still photos), which was taking several days between the live broadcast and the podcast upload.  Instead, we’re offering this episode as a basic mp3 and getting it up right away.  We’ll try this for a while and see if anyone notices.

Steve is back among the living and we managed a new show last Sunday, which is only getting posted now because I’m in Austin, TX for SXSW and have not had any time for editing.
