Based on your theory about the impending resolution of BSG. This link below seems to possibly support your theory (about some sort of virtual reality dimension to the story coming in to play).
Apparently Moore has a pilot project in the works that will play with such ideas. Although not directly related to BSG itself, the fact that the creator is thinking about such stuff seems interesting…
