Episode 64: Torture Memos and Tea Parties

Dollhouse was off this week and with BSG over and TTSCC done for the year (if not forever), there just wasn’t that much SFTV to discuss. And unfortunately, the political news this week was particularly annoying, what with the release of the Bush torture memos, tea partiers, and GOP wingnuttery. Still, the PSFR crew suffered through and had a good show all the same. Enjoy…

Thought this comment was amusing on this review of the Caprica pilot:
Not to prejudge the quality of this series, but I can’t help noting that using the BSG universe for a “soap-opera-like” drama short on sci-fi seems a bit like making an Indiana Jones series that focuses on university politics.
Err, this review:

Steve, thanks for (trying) to calm Bill down on the torture issue; you provided a balanced list of the issues, whether you agreed with them or not, which made for interesting listening.
One suggestion: is it possible to divide up your download by half-hour, so you would have four 30-minute clips of your show every week? That way, I can enjoy your comments on genre TV, and skip the parts that make me want to reach through the computer and wring someone’s neck.
Thanks,
Albi
